Crush Athletics teams posts record 3.24 GPA during fall semester
It was another standout season for Clovis Community College (CCC) athletic teams on the field, but more importantly, in the classroom.
As a department, Crush sports squads earned a combined 3.24 grade point average during the most recent fall 2025 semester. The 3.24 GPA was the highest in program history.
Individually, the Crush has 25 student-athletes earn a 4.0 GPA while an incredible 73 percent of the fall population (67 student-athletes) had a 3.0 or better.
The women's cross country team led the department with a 3.44 GPA followed closely behind by the inaugural women's volleyball squad with a 3.42. Men's cross country checked in with a 3.39 with men's soccer earning a 3.13 and women's soccer at 2.84.
Earning national recognition for the Crush women's soccer team was sophomore Madison Martinez. With a 4.0 GPA, she was named second-team United Soccer Coaches Junior College Scholar All-American.
Academic Counselor for Athletics Karie Hannigan plays an important role in the off-field success of Crush student-athletes. She continues to be impressed by the achievements of her student-athletes.
"I am so proud of our student-athletes for being dedicated to their academic achievement while balancing school with the demands of their sport, jobs, and other personal responsibilities, Hannigan said.
"Great things can happen when you set goals, work hard, persevere, complete your grade checks for Crush Academy, and take advantage of all the support services offered at CCC. Keep Crushing It!"
