For just the second time this season, the Clovis Crush men's soccer team suffered a loss. On Wednesday, Clovis couldn't hold a second-half lead and fell 2-1 at Cañada College in Redwood City.
Tuesday's game got off to a good start for Clovis. Saul Allen Sanchez beat Cañada goalkeeper Alexandria Tapia for the match's first goal to give the Crush the early 1-0 lead.
The game turned into a defensive battle as the score remained 1-0 at the break and into the second half.
In the 58th minute, Cañada got the equalizer from Felipe Agauyo before Naoto Ogawa delivered the eventual game-winning goal in the 66th minute.
After opening the season unbeaten in its first five games, Clovis has won just once over its last four contests and is now 5-2-1 overall. The Crush will look to halt that streak when they return to the field on Friday (Sep. 27) at 2 p.m. when they host Cabrillo College in a non-conference game.
