Crush return home from historic weekend at Cuesta Invite
SAN LUIS OBISPO – It was another record-breaking weekend for members of the Clovis Community Swim & Dive team as six new program-best times were achieved at the Cuesta College Super Invite.
The Crush men stole the show as they scored 414 points to finish in fifth place out of 18 teams at the event.
Sprinter Sylas Maurin led the way as he broke three school records. He set new program-bests in the 50 breast (26.79), 50 fly (23.09), and 50 free (21.63).
Matt Chen set a new school record in the 100 IM with his time of 53.13.
Records were also set 200 medley and 400 medley relays. The 200 medley relay team of Nicola Saito, Behr Cordero, Chen, and Maurin took first with their school-record time of 1:36.09. The same group also set a new mark in the 400 medley relay with their winning time of 3:32.06.
The Crush return to the pool on March 20 when they will compete at the COS Invite in Visalia.
