Crush men’s tennis earns first-ever ITA regional ranking

History continues to be made for the inaugural Clovis Community College men's tennis program. In the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) 3C2A Northern California regional team rankings released on Thursday, the Crush were listed in the No. 10 spot.

It's a huge accomplishment for a team just in its first season of competition. Clovis currently holds a 3-6 overall record and is 3-3 in Central Valley Conference play.

The Crush picked up their first win in program history on February 27 with a 9-0 defeat at Porterville College. Clovis earned its first home victory when it beat Reedley College 6-3 on March 3, and added another shutout win over Porterville at home on March 6.

Freshman Dylan Nishimine has compiled a 5-7 overall singles record, playing primarily at the No. 2 position. In doubles, freshmen Bek Jett and Galen Villarreal have a 7-4 record so far this season at the No. 1 spot.

The Crush are back in action on Saturday (Mar. 14) when they travel to No. 1-ranked Chabot College for a non-conference match.
