CLOVIS – The Clovis Community College women's soccer team began Central Valley Conference play with a tough 1-1 draw with visiting Lemoore College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Crush appeared to be on their way to the win but a late Lemoore goal snatched that away.
After a scoreless opening half, Madison Martinez finally got Clovis on the board, scoring in the 52nd minute thanks to the assist from Myla Nunez.
The Crush held that advantage all they way towards the end of the contest. But just moments before the final whistle, Lemoore's Bailey Goforth knocked in the equalizer in extra time to end the game in a tie.
Clovis is still in search of its first win and moved to 0-4-1 overall this season. The Crush continue conference play next Tuesday (Sep. 23) at 4 p.m. when they travel to take on rival Fresno City College.
