MADERA – After getting off to a slow 0-4 start, the Clovis Crush women's soccer team continued its impressive stretch of play with a 3-1 Central Valley Conference win at Madera Community College on Friday afternoon.
The Crush are unbeaten in four of their last five games (3-1-1) and improved to 3-2-2 in conference play with the victory. Clovis is now 3-6-2 overall.
Clovis got first-half goals from Madison Martinez (19th minute) and Mariah Martinez (39th). Mylan Nunez, who had an assist earlier in the contest, sealed the victory with a goal in the 89th minute.
Milani Gutierrez was solid in goal to earn the win.
The Crush will look to keep the momentum going on Tuesday (Oct. 14) when they host Porterville College in a Central Valley Conference game at 1 p.m.
