Crush women capture first-ever Central Valley Conference championship; men finish second
MERCED – Sophomore Rhiannon Walker captured conference titles in the 1500 and 5000 meters, and was runner up in the 800 meters to help lead the Clovis Community College women's track & field team to its first-ever Central Valley Conference team championship. The event, hosted by Merced College, wrapped up on Saturday.
As a team, the Crush women totaled six gold medals, 13 silvers, and three bronze as part of a winning team score of 238 points. College of the Sequoias was second with 196 points, followed by Fresno City (83), Porterville College (24), and host Merced (21).

On the men's side, Clovis totaled 100 points to end in second place behind team champion College of the Sequoias with 390 points. Fresno City was third with 69 points, followed by Merced in fourth (26), and Porterville (3).
Freshman Vidal Luna also captured a pair of gold medals to lead the Crush, taking first place in the 5000 and 10,000 meters.
